GenPsych in the Community

  • Each year 1 in 4 adults will suffer from a diagnosable mental illness. That’s more than 26% of Americans.
  • Mental disorders are the leading cause of disability in the United States and Canada.
Our dedicated team of Community Liaison Specialists spend time educating the community about our array of mental health programs. As a GenPsych family, we’re also committed to giving back by participating in events throughout the region. For many years, we’ve enjoyed taking time to participate in activities that connect us with the families and other professionals who are dedicated to doing whatever we can to shed light on the mental health crisis as well as other relevant issues that often go unnoticed.

At the Out of Darkness Walk organized by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we were able to assist in their mission of saving lives by helping to bring hope to those affected by suicide. We wholeheartedly support the survivors of suicide loss and were happy to be there particularly during Suicide Prevention Awareness month.

The annual Walk of Hope hosted by the Meridian Health Carrier Clinic is held to raise awareness for mental health, addiction disorders, and to help combat the stigma faced by people suffering from mental illness. The fun-filled event included music, entertainment, arts and crafts, and a Doggie Oasis for the family dogs to join in on the fun. GenPsych was proud to be a sponsor of this family-friendly event.

To kickoff the new Fall season, our team in Flemington held an Apple Tasting Contest. With 11 delicious entries, our clients tasted and  selected the Top 2 winners from the bunch. 1st place went to Honey Crisp with 2nd place honors to Smitten Apples. Not only was it a great way to welcome in the new season, it was another opportunity for us to connect with our amazing families!
